Thanks For a Great Tournament!

The 3rd Annual Pickle Paddle Battle has come and gone and what a great time it was. 194 players participated in the tournament, 6 more than played in 2023. It was a great weekend for playing pickleball on Saint Simons Island. Saturday was a long day, with lots of exciting games. A very short rain scare on Sunday slowed down play for just a few minutes, but play wrapped up before 4:30 in the afternoon.

Many thanks to our sponsors including Platinum Sponsors including: Sea Palms St. Simons, 19th Hole Package Store, Stretch Zone, Marsh’s Edge on St. Simons, and the Medallion Financial Group. Gold Sponsors included Ronnie’s on Market Street, Advance Rehabilitation Physical Therapy, and Iguanas Seafood Restaurant. Silver Sponsors were Keep It Simple Power Washing, Sandy Bottom Bagels, ember farm to fire, and Golden Isles Bracelet Company.

Our tournament would not have been nearly successful without our team from Southern Pickleball, Paul, Linda and J.R. A big shout out to SSIPB Treasurer Bill Carmichael, the man behind the scenes who pulls it all together. Thanks too to the many volunteers who manned the registration table, maintained courts, ran scores to headquarters and cooked those great hot dogs. We couldn’t do it without you.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the raffle. We’re please to report the raffle raised over $700 for No Kill Glynn County. That donation is much appreciated for this organization that helps protect pets and animals in Glynn County.

Last, but not least, get ready for Pickle Paddle Battle IV. Right now it looks like the event will be held April 12-13. Mark you calendars now. We anticipate registration opening shortly after the first of the year.

Save the Date!

Plans are being put together to host a senior (50+) tournament at the new courts at the North Glynn Recreation Complex later this year. Tentative Date is October 12-13. More details coming soon!
